Some books that I have read which you might find interesting too.
The Happiness of Pursuit
This is a great book for people who are looking for a challenge or some meaning in their life. Many of us have tried lots of different things and still not been able to find something that really lifts our soul, that makes us feel like we have found a true purpose. By reading this book you will get loads of ideas to help you set a challenge for yourself. |
The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People
I have read this book twice and have the audio. I think it is a brilliant book, it is full of ideas for life in general, it often gets mistaken for a business book but it really isn't. Top two key thoughts from the book for me:
It really is a great book that everyone should read |
The Road Less Travelled
This is a really interesting book written by a psychiatrist, again I have read it twice. Sometimes books just come to you at the right time in life, I read this one after having been cheated on and then dumped (well, I only found out about the cheating part after being dumped) after having only just moved cities to be with this guy! Not a happy time but this book brought great comfort to me. It is full of case studies of how certain patients reacted in certain circumstances. Some may be offended towards the end of the book by the religious elements but I am sure even Richard Dawkins could get something out of this book by recognising the psychological observations. |
Chicken Soup for the Soul
My best friend gave me this book when I was poorly once, it is a lovely little book full of really cute short stories, well worth a read to lift your mood |
Eat that Frog
I must admit, I didn't read this one, I listened to it, but so many people recommended it to me. My to do lists get a bit stressful, this book is all about breaking down your tasks for the day and then identifying the most important things you need to do (probably the one thing you are putting off the most) but which will have the biggest impact on your journey forward. Tackle your 'frogs' first before you do anything else! |
