Amanda Fosters husband up and left her with forty thousand pounds worth of debt having gone bankrupt for the second time. He left no note as an explanation to why he was leaving her.  She dealt with the bankruptcy and speaking to accountants etc while living in one room that a friend put her up in. Despite all this, Amanda credits her misfortune as her fortune. Because her husband left her she was able to start again and find her true self at 40. Living authentically for Amanda meant  coming to the realisation that she was not actually meant to be with a man, her confidence grew as a result of all she had already dealt with and she was eventually able to find true love with another woman. As she puts it, love took her to Salisbury but she then fell in love with Salisbury. Since moving to Salisbury Amanda has been able to start again, as a valued member of the community she has also gone on to become a local Councillor and the Chamber of Commerce Director.
